We owed him our very lives!

“Truly, truly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains alone…” – John 12:24a

“We are convinced that one died for all, and therefore all died.” – 2 Corinthians 5:14

“…the Word, since it was not possible for Him to die, assumed a body that was capable of dying, so that he might offer it as His own in place of all”. -Athanásios Alexandrías; c. 296–298 – 2 May 373

“…but if it dies, it bears much fruit.”” – John 12:24b

“And he died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who dies for them and was raised again.” – 2 Corinthians 5:15

Treacherous creatures we were, what could we have said but, “we owe you our very lives”.

Gracious Saviour he is, what would he say but, “I give my life as a ransom for many.”

As thankful recipients of that grace, we now say, “we owe you our very lives!”.
